Moto2 team Matteoni Racing has decided to axe Lukas Pesek from their team and the Czech rider will not be taking part in this weekend’s Moto2 race at the Motorland Aragon circuit.
According to the press release Pesek was dropped because of lack of results that “undermines the ability of the team to renew key agreements by the end of the season and for the foreseeable future.
”Pesek will be temporarily replaced at Aragon by Colombian Santiago Hernandez, who currently races in the CEV Moto2 championship in the Laglisse team and is the brother of Moto2 BQR rider Yonny Hernandez.
Matteoni Racing intends to find another rider to finish the season on the Moriwaki MD600 and the announcement should be made before the Motegi GPIt will be interesting to see if Czech insurance company Česká Pojištovna, who is the title sponsor of the team will continue in their sponsorship.
