World's first start&stop bike: Honda PCX125 more pics

Here are more pics of the Honda PCX125 scooter.
It’s said to be the world’s first bike with start&stop technology which is a fuel saving device whereby the engine stops when a vehicle is stationary.
This makes perfect sense for urban scooter riding in the city where this kind of technology will not only save fuel but also make it more environmental (which if you’re coming to Europe is important in their new anti-pollution laws).

Specifically, the Honda PCX125 has an engine which cuts out after three seconds of idling.
A blinking orange ’stand-by’ light appears but then switches off with acceleration.
The beauty of the system is that you can ride with it either on or off, although Honda claims it improves fuel efficiency by just five percent.

That’s hardly going to save the world on fuel emissions but we hazard this is probably only the beginning and expect to see more of this appear on other urban mobility bikes.
