Ducati SportClassic: Sport 1000S, GT1000, and GT 1000 Touring in 70's style

The Ducati SportClassic family was at Milan’s Eicma show, presenting some interesting updates for the 2009 Ducati range.
The Sport 1000 S, with its vintage cover and central, round headlight, will be available in both the traditional Ducati red with white stripe, and a new black colour with white stripe.

The GT 1000 will also be available in black with white stripe, in addition to the current twin colour grey.

The GT 1000 Touring will appear in black in an elegant style appropriate to its Gran Turismo spirit.
The twin seat and double shock absorber shows the Sport 1000 S in a Café Racer style with red or black chain, white stripe and black frame.

The wheels have a spoke design in black and the black exhausts complete the retro look.
The Sport 1000 S becomes a two seater on removing the rear tail cover.
The Sport 1000 S has a racing trellis frame, Marzocchi upside-down fork at 43mm, with chrome details.
The rear features a double Sachs absorber.
The GT 1000, created as a tribute to the lovely GT Ducati models from the 70’s, is an everyday bike thanks to the balance between comfort (also for two) and the performance of the Desmo Ducati.

The seat has comfortable padding, the design is classic and shows off the Ducati logo, recently redesigned.
The rider pedals are positioned towards the front, and the passenger pedals and seating have been designed for maximum comfort.
The tank is slim and ergonomic with easy access for refuel.
The front and rear mudguards are faithful to the 70’s design, with other elements such as the handles, in shiny alloy, matching the chromed wheels and instrument panel.
Chrome exhausts and mufflers complete the classic look of this bike.
The GT 1000 for this year will have a new colour scheme with white stripe combined with Classic Silver and Smoke Grey.
The GT 1000 Touring also has some 70’s style, along with a convenient windshield.
It also has redesigned mudguards and chrome elements showing off an Italian artisanal style.
The GT and the Sport are equipped with the Desmo 1000 DS engine, with its air-cooled twin cylinder.
The original project from Fabio Taglioni created the L shape, and the bike shows off this Ducati technology.
With some updates to the valves, the bikes feature 36 spoke steel chrome wheels, at 17 inches, with sports tyres.
