Jorge Lorenzo injured, out of Australian GP

Casey Stoner will have free reign to take the 2011 World Championship today at his home circuit at Phillip Island and will need just a sixth place finish as Jorge Lorenzo has been forced to withdraw from the race.

In the crash the Spaniard partially lost the tip of his left ring finger and was transported to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, where he will have to undergo surgery later today .
