Jonas Folger, last season’s 125cc race winner at Silverstone is the latest rider to feel the economic crunch.
Fogler had already signed to ride for MZ Racing Team in the new 2012 Moto3 championship, but due to the bankruptcy of a parts supplier and the delay in the production their upcoming Emmely EL2 Hybrid scooter, MZ Racing has been forced to cut back on their racing budget, with the young German rider bearing part of the brunt.
MZ will be in Moto2 with Swedish rider Alex Lundh sponsored by Cresto Guide, while in Moto3 MZ has teamed up with Racing Team Germany to field Toni Finsterbusch, while the 20-year old Folger still remains under contract he has been demoted to test rider and substitute rider for the team unless he comes up with a sponsor to pay for his season in Moto3.
