Pedercini announces World Superbike and Superstock riders line-up

The World Superbike grid has just increased to a slightly healthier 18 riders as Pedercini has finally gotten around to announcing both their 2013 World Superbike and Superstock riders line-up.
The Italian based team will take part in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup with three riders: Federico Dittadi, Leandro ‘Tati’ Mercado and Lorenzo Savadori (already confirmed last December) while in the World Superbike Championship they will be fielding Alexander Lundh and Federico Sandi.

The team has confirmed Lundh after his participation in the last four rounds of the past World Superbike season after he parted ways with MZ Racing following a right hand injury and then replacing injured upersport rider Pawel Szkopek in Bogdanka Honda PTR’s team for the Silverstone round.

Federico Sandi will be the second rider and despite being only 23, his career includes entries in the 125cc and 250cc World Championships, the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup and CIV Superbike and World Superbikes.
Federico Dittadi (in the photo) made his racing debut in 2007 and after some years spent in the Italian Championship, first in the Stock 600 and afterwards in the Stock 1000 class, he decided to step into the international racing scene with the Pedercini Team.

After the jump you can check out what boss Luca Pedericini and three of the five riders had to say: Lucio Pedercini: “We are happy to have defined our two teams for 2013.
We confirmed for the Superbike side of the garage Alex Lundh, who did well last year despite racing just the last four rounds.
We’re confident he will better his results by racing the entire season.
We give our welcome onboard to Sandi, a young and promising rider who hasn’t had the chance to show his talent so far.
We’re confident to put him in the right conditions to perform and to express his potential.
It’s the same thing for Dittadi, who will make his debut in the Stock 1000.
It will be a learning year for him as he still has to learn most of the tracks, but I’m confident he will also be able to score some good results.
We now have, thanks to Savadori and Mercado, one of the most competitive teams in the Superstock 1000 class.
We will be testing at Jerez on the January 23rd-24th with Sandi, Salvadori and Dittadi, before shipping the bikes to Australia for the start of 2013 season.
”Federico Sandi: “I’m very pleased of the agreement reached with the Pedercini family.
We both want to get good results and their bikes are undoubtedly competitive.
I’m finally taking part to a full World Superbike season and that is a good boost for me.
I want to bear fruit of my previous experiences made in different series and classes and my goal is to be consistently in the top-10, even though there are a lot of factory riders and machines in Superbike.
I’m happy to be testing at Jerez by the end of January and after that at Phillip Island.
I need some track-time to get comfortable with both team and bike.
I can’t wait until the start of the season.
”Federico Dittadi: “I’m truly happy of the opportunity that’s been given to me by the Team Pedercini.
I have to learn most of the tracks and gain some experience in the series, as it’s my first season at international level.
I don’t want to set any specific goal, I just want to do my best.
I rode the Pedercini bike last week at Jerez and I will do it again, on the same track, on the 23rd and 24th of the current month, in order to get more confidence with the bike and the team.
I would like to thank my family and my sponsors who made this agreement possible.
”Alex Lundh: “I’m really happy to remain in the Superbike championship with the Pedercini Team.
My first experience in this fascinating and competitive championship was unforgettable and I will try my best to improve the results I got so far.
Last year I immediately got acquainted with the entire Pedercini family.
They are reputable professionals and we are on the same wavelength about next year’s targets.
I’m eager to ride my Kawasaki ZX10R in the Jerez test scheduled at the end of January and I’m determined to put a good season together”.
