While BMW teammate Troy Corser scored an excellent 5th place and a 10th place during the WSBK round at Brno, Ruben Xaus was not so lucky.
The Spanish rider crashed out in in the first lap of race 1 and broke his femur.
Xaus was operated on at the Centro Medico Teknon in Barcellona and three screws were inserted into his femur and the rider according to a hospital spokesperson will leave the hospital later tonight.
This injury will probably keep Xaus away for the next round at Nurburgring in September and Julian Mazuecos who is BMW’s rider in the German IDM Superbike series and also their official test rider, could fill in for Xaus.
