The new Mini Rocketman concept hasn’t exactly won our hearts for its beauty, but there are a couple of design features we like.
The Rocketman doors and boot drawer are the least of our concerns when demanding an explanation for the concept’s cartoonish style, but Mini design boss Anders Warming discusses these in the Rocketman videos you see here.
The videos after the jump discuss the Rocketman’s use of carbon fibre as a “premium way of showing technology”, and its size as a sustainable message about Mini’s smallness, but premium status.
The design features discussed all make sense in terms of the Mini Rocketman’s current concept phase, but we’ll be interested to see what exactly they do with this model and whether it makes it into production as a whole, or whether we will see some of its technology adopted in the future.
This is one model likely to spark plenty of interest at the Geneva Motor Show.
