Yamaha France GMT 94 Ipone Team drops out of WSBK Championship

Economic woes and budget problems have hit another WSBK satellite team, after Stiggy Honda Racing, Yamaha’s GMT 94 Ipone team has also decided to drop out of the 2010 championship.
The team backed by Yamaha France and run by Christophe Guyot, have decided to concentrate it’s efforts in endurance competitions where they have been more successful, and if their budget permits it, a couple of wildcard appearances in World Superbikes.

The team raced in 2009 with David Checa, who finished 37th in the standings was substituted in the Kyalami and Miller rounds by Shaun Whyte and Erwan Nigon.
Checa is in talks with several Supersport teams, but will be with GMT 94 in endurance competitions including the next 24 Hours of Le Mans with Checa, Gregorio Lavilla and French rider Kenny Foray.
