MV Augusta ‘s Enrico D’Onofrio is being investigated for industrial espionage, unlawful competition and theft in regards to his previous job in Ducati.
MV Augusta was bought less than a year ago by Harley Davidson and appointed D’Onofrio managing director of MV Augusta on May 1st of this year.
Before that, D’Onofrio held a senior management position with Ducati as Chief Financial Officer and in Proctor & Gamble’s European operations.
On Monday the Guardia di Finanza searched D’Onofrio’s office and his home in Varese, Italy.
According to D’Onofrio’s lawyer, Alessandro Diddi: the Finanza seized a computer where they believe that certain files are contained.
” Diddi also stated that “his client had not taken any proprietary information, and the only documents he took with him when he left Ducati were available in the public domain”.
Didde also added that “there is nothing that D’Onofrio has used these data to the benefit of the new employer.
”There has been no comment from Ducati.
