State of grace again for Jorge Lorenzo who took his third consecutive pole position after Silverstone and Assen at his home track of Montmelò.

Stoner was not happy with his position, blaming DePuniet for baulking him on his first run on softer tires and accusing a number of riders of waiting for him to start another fast lap for a tow.
We are now getting used to seeing Randy de Puniet on the first row and one of the best Honda riders.
The Frenchman led most of the qualifying session before both Lorenzo and Stoner pushed him back to third.

Fourth went to Honda factory rider Dani Pedrosa followed by Ben Spies in fifth, who on his final lap moved from eleventh to fifth, but apparently something happened on track that left the Texan gesticulating angrily.

Andrea Dovizioso was sixth ahead of Loris Capirossi who is using a “patchwork” Suzuki, with parts and components from the last three years.
Aleix Espargaro, eighth was hoping for higher place after this morning’s fifth place.
Ninth went to Marco Simoncelli followed by Alvaro Bautista in 10th.
Both rookies went up to fourth in the hour session.
Colin Edwards and Nicky Hayden took eleventh and twelfth respectively.
Hector Barbera claimed 13th while Marco Melandri who is having trouble breathing with his fractured sternum and difficulty riding with his shoulder injury, took 14th and Mika Kallio was 15th and the last professional MotoGP rider.
In the test riders ‘qualifying session’ Honda’s Kousuke Akiyoshi edged out Wataru Yoshikawa by 0.
182s and both riders were more than 3 seconds off Lorenzo’s pole position.
