State of grace again for Jorge Lorenzo who took his third consecutive pole position after Silverstone and Assen at his home track of Montmelò.
The Fiat Yamaha rider with a fabulous fourth sector, stopped the clock at 1.

Casey Stoner struggled with rear grip in this qualifying session, but came out of his problems to take second and was 0.

Stoner was not happy with his position, blaming DePuniet for baulking him on his first run on softer tires and accusing a number of riders of waiting for him to start another fast lap for a tow.

The Frenchman led most of the qualifying session before both Lorenzo and Stoner pushed him back to third.
