MotoGP: Randy de Puniet to be Monitored with RASAD

LCR Honda MotoGP Team has announced that they have signed a partnership agreement with the Qatar Science & Technology Park in order to develop the RASAD technology platform which allow monitoring the physiological strain imposed on their rider Randy de Puniet while riding the bike on track and during his daily physical training.

RASAD is a joint project between the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) and Aspetar – Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital.

QSTP Chairman, Dr Tidu Maini said: “RASAD utilises two-way communication technology to send data over a wireless network to a central server that processes the data and provides real-time customised graphical interfaces and services”.
Aspetar’s General Director, Dr Mohammed GA Al Maadheed added: “This is an exciting project with LCR Honda MotoGP Team as we will provide solutions to improve the well-being and performance of their rider”.

LCR Honda MotoGP Team Manager Lucio Cecchinello concluded that: “By working with RASAD we will deeply monitoring the physical strain imposed on Randy while riding the bike on a different tracks and climate conditions.
Through this very compact device (which record real time the Heart Ratio, Blood Pressure, Body Temperature, Blood Glycaemia) we will be able to set more specific physical training programs in order to replicate the closest physical strain while he rides his RCV Honda”.
