Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez will be at Motegi, Japan this Friday to take part in “Honda Racing Thanks Day”, to celebrate this season’s successes for the Japanese manufacturer, who took the MotoGP 2012 constructors title and 12 victories between Pedrosa and Casey Stoner.
Also taking part in the event will be Hiroshi Aoyama, Takaaki Nakagami, Yuki Takahashi, Kousuke Akiyoshi Takumi Takahashi, Tatsuya Yamaguchi, and also former Honda riders Shinichi Itoh, Shinya Nakano and Tadayuki Okada.
This won’t be just the usual PR visit for Marquez.
The newest addition to Repsol Honda is also scheduled to take part in a wind tunnel test ahead of the three-day test session at Sepang from November 26-28.
The last MotoGP rider we remember that tested in their wind tunnel was the late Marco Simoncelli – who did it twice, in 2010 and 2011.
HRC tried to give the big and lanky Italian a bigger and aerodynamic fairing that would cover him more and in the process try to cut down on the excessive fuel consumption that he was having, but Marquez shouldn’t have any of these problems as he’s small and light just like his team mate Pedrosa, unless Honda is going to build a smaller size bike for 2013.
