Marco Melandri renews with Yamaha for 2012

We will be seeing more of Marco Melandri next season in World Superbikes, the former MotoGP rider in his debut season with the Yamaha Superbike team and is currently third in the standings (with 3 wins, 6 podiums and 1 Superpole so far), has revealed that his contract has been extended to 2012.
“Yes, next year I’ll still be here in Superbike” said Melandri, in an interview published in Italy’s Motosprint magazine.

“After changing four bikes and four teams in the last four years I am very happy to be able to build something that will last rather than having to start over again every time.
Yamaha has now confirmed its 2012 line-up, with Eugene Laverty already under contract for next season.
