MotoGP Catalunya test times 1pm

The MotoGP team and riders are still at Catalunya for an official post-race test and this morning the Spanish circuit at 10am and the circuit where Jorge Lorenzo won his third race of the season, was still slightly damp following a rain shower the previous night, but dried out quickly once the sun began to shine.

Unfortunately two riders were caught out by damp patches at turn 4, Karel Abraham on his first outing lap and a just a little later Cal Crutchlow had a huge crash which scattered about a zillion pieces of Tech3 Yamaha all over the gravel trap, which caused the session to be red flagged.

Both riders spent a little time in the Medical Center with the Czech rider picking up a bruise to his hand, while the Brit had a big graze to his thigh and a cut to his shoulder.
Crutchlow returned to track while Abraham has yet to post a recorded lap.
The fastest rider so far is Casey Stoner who laid down 1:42.
458 lap, which was already four tenths of second faster than his yesterday’s best race lap and better than Jorge Lorenzo’s.

Stoner is followed by team mate Dani Pedrosa, Yamaha Tech3s Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo.
BSB rider and appointed test rider Shane Byrne, is giving James Ellison a hand in testing his Paul Bird Motorsport ART and try to solve the chatter problems that Ellison has been having.
Valentino Rossi will re-test the aluminium swingarm that was introduced on Friday and then dropped for the rest of the weekend.
Lorenzo is testing a new spec engine, and Andrea Dovizioso upgraded electronics.
Track activity will resume at 2pm and conclude at 6pm.
