Dani Pedrosa rose to fourth, so watch out for his start, but the race will be very long for the recovering Spaniard.
Colin Edwards followed in fifth, and Marco Simoncelli fell back to sixth, while Hector Barbera was seventh with his privateer Ducati.
Valentino Rossi was only eighth and still more than five tenths from the top of field and just 0.
001s ahead of Ben Spies with Andrea Dovizioso closing out the top ten.
