Renault is set to unveil its crossover SUV ‘Duster’ for the Indian market on Jan 6th, at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo.
The model is obviously based on the Dacia Duster, the successful SUV that is sold in Europe with the badge of the Romaninan automaker, which is controlled by Renault since 1999.
The French manufacturer will produce the Duster locally, in its Chennai plant, in an effort to keep the costs down and take on the Indian market with an aggressive pricing policy.
The model will be the fourth Renault car to be introduced in India after the Fluence, the Koleos and the Pulse, a new hatchback that will be unveiled at the same event in New Delhi.
The new Duster will enter the Indian market in the second half of 2012.
