Wanting to follow in the footsteps of his very famous half-brother Valentino Rossi, Luca Marini will make his Moto3 GP debut when he’ll wildcard in at the San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini GP at Misano, on September 15th according to the latest rumors.
Marini who will turn 16 on August 10th (so legally he can race in GP) will contesting this season in the Italian CIV Moto3 category riding for Team Twelve Racing run by Alessio Aldrovandi, and he’ll have at his disposal Romano Fenati’s 2012 FTR Honda bike that Team Italia FMI rider took to victory at Jerez and three other podiums in his debut season.
It seems that Team Twelve Racing will also be contesting several rounds in the Spanish CEV and the European championship, and last week Marini tested his new FTR Honda at Valencia, but the shakedown test was hampered by rain and cold winds, but Marini said that he also used the time to study for school.
While waiting for the CIV season to start Luca trains almost every Saturday at his step brother’s MotoRanch at Tavullia with a Honda CRF 250.
