Rain once again disrupted testing, and this time it was the World Superbike teams gathered at the Portimao track in Portugal who got their big dose of lousy weather yesterday.
The rain put a damper on those riders who have yet to test their new machines, such as James Toseland and Aryton Badovini with the new satellite BMW Italia team, who are currently using BMW’s test bikes, while waiting to receive their official machines and Ten Kate Honda’s debuting Ruben Xaus and Maxime Berger in Supersonic Ducati, the French rider preferring to sit the session out.
Unable to do more three or four laps on the track, with times in the high 1.
57’s and 1.
58’s Jonathan Rea, finally back on his Honda after his wrist surgery, putting in the best time followed by Leon Haslam and Troy Corser.
Testing resumes today, but the weather forecast for Portugal doesn’t seem too promising.
