Martinez vs Talmacsi: "Divorce" finalized

Jorge “Aspar” Martinez and Gábor Talmácsi held a press conference yesterday in Budapest to confirm that he and Talmácsi were unable to reach a common agreement on communication and media rights in Hungary that caused the Hungarian rider to pull out of the Le Mans race.

The former 2007 125cc World Champion who won with Martinez will no longer ride with the Balatonring Team and is out of series and no other ride waiting for him.

Martinez had offered Talmácsi a further year under contract and more involvement in the team and the Balatonring circuit that is being built near Balaton Lake and should be finally ready to host MotoGP in 2010.

Both parties emphasized that the “divorce” was a friendly one.
Martinez has hired Nemeth Balazs, a twenty year old rider from Budapest for the Mugello race.
After the jump, Martinez’s comments from the press conference:“We introduced in this very place in March our new team the Balatonring Team and its new sponsors: Grupo Milton, Logistic Land and Sedesa.
We are also really grateful to Aprilia.

I reckon we really made very good progress through the first three GPs of this year but Gábor decided to terminate the contract.
We came to Budapest now to settle the problematic issues with Gábor, but unfortunately we didn’t reach common agreement due to the question of the communication and media rights of Hungary.
I would like to make it very clear that my personal relation was always excellent to Gábor and now I can only wish the best to him both in his private and professional life.
I am sad but we have to concentrate to the future and not the past! We keep on working on our Hungarian project, the team will go on and Balatonring circuit will be constructed in an even bigger size than it was originally planned.
Each party goes by in their respective ways: I can only wish Mr.
Talmácsi be successful and let him find a new team for himself.
We departed in peace, hence I may – in principle – agree his joining an other team during this season.
As you may know, we have a 125cc and a 250cc team, our teams are possessing good positions in the world championship, therefore I want to give extra attention to our Hungarian duties from now on and I will devote special efforts to make Balatonring Team successful.
One thing is certain: a Hungarian pilot will take over the place of Gábor Talmácsi in our team.
