Nico Terol leads final day of testing in Jerez washout

The final day of Moto2 testing at Jerez de la Frontera was a washout, with only twenty riders of the previous 33 that were present deciding to take to track only during the morning session, after the rain returned to the Spanish circuit, while in the afternoon only Toni Elias and Marcel Schrotter put in a few laps as everyone packed up to go homeIn the wet, Aspar’s Nico Terol was the fastest rider, as he was on Tuesday with the same weather conditions, and his best lap of 1’54″860 leaving British riders Scott Redding and Moto2 rookie Danny Kent to finish the day in second and third respectively and three tenths behind.

Johann Zarco with Iodaracing Project’s Suter was fourth, while the first NGM Forward rider this time was Ricky Cardus, but his three other team mates, Simone Corsi, Alex De Angelis and Mattia Pasini decided to sit the day out.
Xavier Simeon was sixth followed by Takaaki Nakagami, Dominique Aegerter, Jordi Torres, while wet weather specialist Anthony West closed out the top ten for QMMF.

In the three-days of Jerez testing, the fastest rider overall was title favourite Pol Espargaro who posted his stunning 1’42″332 yesterday in the dry, with Kalex being most competitive Moto2 machine so far as they’ve dominated the top four positions overall.

Moto2 testing will resume at Jerez from March 18th to the 21st, with the teams finally receiving their 2013 Honda engines which will now be prepared by MEF instead of Geo Technologies who used to supply and maintain the engines for Moto2 from 2010 to 2012.
