Since its debut at the EICMA show in 2011, the Ducati 1199 Panigale has been receiving raving accolades worldwide, and to add still another award to the iconic Italian marques already full trophy case, the Panigale was voted by the SWA – Supertest World Association (which consists of well-known motor journalists and media from 11 countries) as the 2012 ‘Bike of the Year.
’ Each country expressed their three top choices, awarding three points for the first choice, two points for the second choice and one point for the third, and the kick ass Panigale came out on top.

Ducati 1199 Panigale – 20 points 2.
Honda NC700S/X – 10 points 3.
KTM 690 Duke and the Aprilia RSV4 APRC were tied with 5 points eachIn 2011 the winner was BMW for their K 1600 GT/GTL and the year before the German manufacturers S1000RR took the award.
