Marco Melandri is preparing for the Mugello race, and has posted another diary entry on his site for his fans, after a period of silence in which he reveals he’s afraid of waking up from a dream.
“Not even in the rosiest of dreams I’ve lived such a fun season start,” he says.
Melandri says he’s happy even if the next few races will be very difficult.
“But I’m not scared,” he says.
“No words can describe my feelings after the GP at Le Mans.
I knew that the difficult conditions would be an occasion to take advantage of, and I was hoping to come close to the podium, but not to step up on it.
”Mugello is a hard race for any Italian, although there’s the excitement of being on home ground and participating in a small slice of history.
Melandri says: “Now we’re at Mugello, an incredible race for all Italians.
I can’t wait to live it! When I think of last winter and how I was seen by people, and how they see me now, I would say many years have passed.
But really only a little time has passed.
