Race 2 at Silverstone was almost another photocopy of race 1 with Sterilgarda Yamaha’s Cal Crutchlow and Hannspree Ten Kate Honda’s Jonathan Rea pulling away from the rest of the field making it a two man race.
Crutchlow attempted his first pass with only a few laps left to go, but then his second decisive pass on lap 16 sticked and he pulled away from Rea and taking the fastest lap of the race to score his second World Superbike win of his career as he led another British one-two-three in his home race.

Third place went to Aprilia Alitalia’s Leon Camier with the Brit fighting his way from his sixteenth place on the grid to earn the final podium spot.
Leon Haslam took fourth battling to the line with a hard charging James Toseland who crossed over the finish line in fifth on the Astroturf.
Sixth went to World Championship leader Max Biaggi, who saw himself lose only eight points in standings in this difficult weekend for the Italian.

While the Ducati Xerox duo Michel Fabrizio and Noriyuki Haga had a disappointing race, with Fabrizio pulling out on the 11th lap with technical difficulties and Haga finishing in 13th behind wild card rider Joshua Brookes and his HM Plant Honda.
The BMW Motorrad team also had a disappointing day with Troy Corser who crashed out on the second lap after passing Max Biaggi and Ruben Xaus who could manage a lowly 11th place and was more that six seconds behind 1oth place Carlos Checa.
