We already posted that MotoGP and Moto2 riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ricky Cardus were taking part in this weekend’s 24 Hours of Barcelona car endurance race at the Montmelò circuit and the two riders along with drivers Álvaro Fontes and José Manuel de los Milagros had a very good race, as they finished 5th overall in the gruelling race.
This unusual assortment of drivers for the PCR Sport team, however went even better as the team grabbed first prize in the A3T category with their #39 Seat León Supercopa, and ended up the best finishing Spanish team in the endurance race.
The race so hard, that Lorenzo commented he was exhausted by the brutal heat and that he probably won’t take part in another race of this type.
Lorenzo and Cardus weren’t the only two-wheel professional riders present at the event, because Dakar Rally champion Marc Coma also partecipated and his Team Competition Monlau took 12th overall (5th in his category), while Laia Sanz, the eleven time Woman’s Trial World Champion finished 18th overall and won in the A2 category.
