Jorge Lorenzo gets a World Champion homecoming welcome

After three flyaway races, where Jorge Lorenzo took the the World Championship title at Sepang, the Fiat Yamaha rider finally returned home to his native Palma de Mallorca and greeted with a big hero’s welcome.
The official celebration saw his sponsor Air Europa christen one of their Boeing’s 737-800 planes with the name “Lorenzo’s Land.

” The Spanish champion was then escorted by hundreds of enthusiastic bikers to the Balearic government building where he was received by Francesc Antich, the president of the Balearic parliment with “We are the Champions” playing in the background.
An emotional Lorenzo said: “Being a two time 250cc World Champion is a lot, but to be the MotoGP champion is completely another thing! I am proud to have been successful and will aim to repeat myself next year, even if I know that will be difficult to reconfirm myself as # 1, my intention is to win again to show that this title was not a one time thing only in 2010, but the result of many seasons of work.
