Jorge Lorenzo super fast and consistent in Mugello warm-up

Jorge Lorenzo was the fastest rider during this morning’s warm-up practice at Mugello.
The Yamaha rider showed a devasting pace in the brief session, almost all of them under the 1.

215s adrift and followed by Marc Marquez who was riding without that huge bandage on his chin.

Valentino Rossi made it into fourth with his last lap but he was more than eight tenths from his team mate.
Today’s pole sitter Dani Pedrosa was behind the Italian in fifth, but the Spaniard seemed to be holding back and waiting for the higher temperatures expected for the race when his Honda functions better.
Andrea Dovizioso also took it easy during the practice – saving his strength and neck for this afternoon as he was just 11th.

Andrea Iannone put the wheels of his Pramac Ducati ahead of Nicky Hayden who apparently still has to solve his grip issues.
Honda satellite riders Alvaro Bautista and Stefan Bradl were 8th and 9th with the German rider more than 1.

Randy de Puniet finished in 10th but he suffered a crash – his second of the weekend – at turn 12, the first of the Arrabbiate, he luckily was able to get up with no apparent injuries.
Bradley Smith suffered a massive highside during the session – at the Pelagio – and it looked almost identical to the one that injured his little finger and fractured his scaphoid.
Smith was left limping and dazed and was later seen in his garage with an abrasion near his eye.
Whether this latest crash will convince the British rookie to withdraw from the round remains to be seen.
