Jorge Lorenzo will be switching from two wheels to four to take part in the 24 Hours of Barcelona onboard a Fiat 500 Abarth Assetto Corse.
The Fiat Yamaha rider who currently leads in the MotoGP standings will be making his car racing debut with the Difisa Racing team together with Francesc Gutiérrez and Josep Bigas.
Difisa Racing will soon be announcing if Lorenzo will take part in Copa de España de Resistencia race scheduled for November 13th and 14th or in the Alcaniz 500 km that takes place at Motorland Aragon circuit, December 4th.
The Spanish rider will follow in the line of other motorcycle riders who have tried their hand in car racing, like Valentino Rossi and Troy Bayliss, Gabor Talmacsi and fellow countryman Aleix Espargaro, who won the 500 km at Aragon last year with a Seat Leon TDI in the D5 class reseverved for diesel cars.
