Kawasaki has revealed its new Z1000SX at the 2010 Intermot show.
It’s part of a revamped Kawasaki range which includes an even sexier Ninja ZX-10R.
The new Z1000SX is a competitive offering in the maxi naked segment, with Kawasaki focusing on more power and comfort in its sports bike.

It seems that 2011 could be the year of versatility for Kawasaki as the Z1000SX provides a supersports model for those coming from street or naked bikes with medium power capabilities.

Clearly designed to make a visual impact, it certainly won’t please everyone for its chunky look, but Kawasaki has made up for that by providing some impressive power.
The 1043cc engine is based on the Z1000 model and has 138 hp.
The Z1000SX strives to distribute that evenly across all revs, with the butterfly valve ready response at high revs.
The four cylinder is placed in a twin beam aluminium frame which is designed to be stable and sporty.

The front fork measures 41mm and the rear suspension uses a Back-link system.
The brake system comprises radial calipers and brake pump.

The Z1000SX is designed not just for high powered street riding, but should also prove comfortable enough for longer range trips.
It might look bulky but part of that is the added comfort Kawasaki has tried to add.
The touring capabilities are highlighted by an adjustable windshield, a 19-litre tank, more comfortable seats both for rider and passenger, and a generous underseat storage space which is apparently about double that of the standard Z1000.
