The first free practice at Estoril this morning was a total washout.
Heavy rain and wind and track flooding discouraged all the riders from putting their noses out of their garages, except for Interwetten’s Hiroshi Aoyama who did five very careful laps and Pramac Ducati’s Carlo Checa who went out and came back after completing one very slow lap.
The forty five minute session was dedicated to talking, fooling around with mobile phones and in Marco Simoncelli’s side of the garage playing cards.
Hopefully this afternoon’s session will see the weather let up slightly, but weather reports say we’ll see the same conditions.
