Gregorio Lavilla will be replacing Brendan Roberts in Guandalini Racing for the rest of the WSBK season.
Insistent rumors at the begining of the month were already talking of the Australian rider being substituted with the Spaniard, infact Lavilla’s wildcard in the Italian CIV with Guandalini at Misano was probably a test to see how he handled the Ducati 1098R.
Roberts injury during race 1 pile up at Monza only paved Lavilla’s way into the team in a smoother way.
Lavilla replaced Roberts at Kyalami taking 11th place in race 1 and 12th in race 2 in his debut, already bettering Roberts 13th place in race 2 at Assen.
Gregorio Lavilla:“I’m very honored to come back in this Championship with a Team and bike so competitive like Ducati 1198 and Guandalini’s Team.
I know that the situation it’s not easy but I hope to find a good feeling with bike for help both myself and Kuba and Team to achieve the target.
I’ll do all I can in this race to get great satisfactions.
