These spy shots of the Aprilia Tuono V4 and the Aprilia RSV4 R come from track tests at Mugello in Italy.
The models are both based on the Aprilia RSV4 Factory and look just about ready for launch.
Reports say the RSV 4 R will be a cheaper model, in the line of the RSV 1000 R, with less top-end components.
The RSV 4 Factory costs about 20,000 euros, and the R will be priced at 16,000 euros, in competition with bikes such as the BMW S1000RR.
A disappointment for those who want the price tag but with the same specs, will be the substition of Ohlins suspension with Showa.
The engine is likely to be a little less powerful and with understated wheels to complete the package.
Carbon fibre features may be sacrificed, too.
OmniMoto reports that the RSV4 R could also make its presence known to the Yamaha R1 2009 and the Ducati 1198 based on price, as Aprilia’s standard comes in at least than both.
The models should appear at this year’s EICMA show.
