As everyone knows Loris Capirossi made his 300th Grand Prix start at the Qatar race and he wore a very special one-off helmet during the race.
His Suomy Extreme helmet was re-painted by Troy Lee Designs who now follows the Rizla Suzuki team and the design combined all of Capirossi’s personal logos, but highlighted everything with some very flashy 24 carat gold sheeting to make the helmet stand out for the special event.

The helmet took 18 hours to paint and then a further three hours to lay the gold to the design.
Each part of the gold was machine-turned to give the visually stunning circle effect that can be seen on the top and side stripes, and within the 300 logo that replaced Capirossi’s usual 65.
