Motorcycle manufacturers aren’t the only ones feeling the difficult economic situation, even companies who produce accessories for motorcycles and motorcycle gear are feeling the hard pinch of dropping sales, and Nolan, who produces helmets entirely made in Italy have decided to face the long going and continuing economic crisis, with solidarity contracts in order to save jobs.
The Nolan Group which is owned by Alberto Vergani (who is also Marco Melandri and Carlos Checa manager) issued a press release late yesterday afternoon explaining the the situation will last for 24 months starting July 1st 2013, and will involve 333 workers in their two factories at Brembate Sopra (BG) and Valbrembo (BG), who will work 20% or less hours a week with a relative pay cut, but still hold onto their jobs.
The solidarity contract will also be applied to management.
Exports make up 77% of Nolan’s total earnings.
