One of the most enduring partnership of the MotoGP franchise, the Honda–Repsol, will go on for other two years starting from 2021. The first tie-up between the racing team and the sponsor was signed in 1995.
Since 1995, the Repsol – Honda partnership has celebrated fifteen championship. Amongst many famous riders, it’s good to count champions such as Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Casey Stoner and, more recently, Marc Marquez.
The Honda Racing Corporation president Yoshishige Nomura has expressed its pleasure to renew this union. “Togheter we have achieved incredible success and formed a partnership which is unique in motorsport.
“Working as one we have – and will continue – to overcome all obstacles and hardship which are presented to us. 2020 has been a difficult year for the world, but togheter with Repsol we have continued to work towards our goals”.
Indeed, the current season has been tough for the Japanese motor company. The star, Marc Marquez, missed great part of the racing due to a broken arm. His return is expected in November, as well as his duels.
In the meanwhile, his brother, Alex Marquez, has tried to replicate Marc’s fortunes.
