Scooters: Kymco People S 300i

The model is a lot sexier than we’re used to seeing and we’re not talking about the scooter! But if we were we would discuss Kymco’s new People S, updated with new 300i power.
People S 300i is, in fact, aimed at a public who uses their scooter both in everyday city traffic and for weekend touring.

The background of this “Made in Taiwan” is linked to able Italian designers who have worked on producing a modern vehicle, characterised by tense and angular lines that give it originality.
Some details and specs are below.
The front is characterised by an ample protection shield and front grill letting the radiator breathe.

The windshield is integrated into the front and the headlight has a halogen double lamp, while the rear lights are LED, combined with the rounded storage and also passenger seating.
New colours and modern design have been included, with blue and grey tones giving an agressive but elegant look to this scooter.
The instrument panel has been revised and now includes three circular elements, including a multi-functional display of odometer and time.

The scooter also includes a cell phone recharger socket.
Underseat storage can hold a jet helmet, and has two hooks and the 12 volt socket.
The petrol cap has also been moved to a more comfortable position on the back of the of the windshield.
The People S 300i has a reinforced tubular steel chassis which guarantees great safety standards.
The telescopic fork is hydraulic at 37mm, and is combined with a single swing arm and twin shock absorbers giving some great riding feel and road grip.
The brake system includes twin 260 mm discs on the front, and on the rear a single 260mm disc, with levers working on only one wheel, creating a braking style that reflects “real” motorcycles compared to many of the modern scooters on the market.
The 16-inch alloy wheels are in the new grey colour, and have generous tyres for the flexibility of this scooter both for touring and city riding.
The People S 300i is equipped with a four-stroke horizontal engine, producing Euro 3 performance.
The twin cam has a higher rating and power is brought up to about 270cc.
The Keihin fuel injection system has been renewed to create a smooth and substantial fuel flow, while ECU electronic control improves performance and reduces fuel waste.
The engine is liquid cooled and together with the transmission has a power of 17.

4 hp) at 7,500 revs and a torque of 24.
7Nm at 6,500 revs.
The People S 300i sells for around 3,695 euros across the dealership network.
Colours available are dark blue, metal, blue and black and the scooter can be purchased with extra accessories.
