Shoei launched their new XR1100, their new sporty touring helmet to the world press in Spain on Monday.
The new XR1100 will be replacing the already high performance and successful XR 1000, but improves the lid in all areas from ventilation, visibility, aerodynamics to confort.
Shoei has used a special extraction tecnology that improves the ventilation system.
They’ve incorporated a negative pressure system that allows a continous discharge of warm air even at low speeds.
Inlets include an adjustable vent on the chin (with defroster) two vents on the brow and four outlet vents on the back and a special ventilation duct that minimizes ventilation noise.
The visor has been enlarged to allow a broader field of vision and a suction seal, that guarantees it’s draft free.
New aerodynamics perfected in numerous laboratory and road tests.
Spoilers are integrated in the shell to optimise air flows, making the helmet extremely stable even at high speeds and the new compact design reduces wind noise.
The interior have been redesigned to enhance wearer comfort and offers a 3D centre pad which comfortably encases the head, centre pad, cheek pads and chin strap are all detachable and washable.
It will be available in a range of colours and graphics, and priced around the same as the current Shoei XR1000 and will be available from September 2009.
