According to Italian daily Il Resto del Carlino, Valentino Rossi and Ducati have finally ironed out all the details regarding his contract with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer and the announcement will be officially made public at the Red Bull U.
S.
Grand Prix at Laguna Seca, July 25th.
Not exactly breath taking news as the rumors have been getting stronger since Casey Stoner was confirmed in Honda HRC just last week and the only anticipation was betting on when the actual Ducati–Rossi announcement would be made.
The biggest news is is that Rossi will be going almost solo into the red team, no legendary man of miracles, Jeremy Burgess, who’s been Valentino Rossi’s crew chief for over ten years and followed him to Yamaha and no Davide Brivio, who prefers to remain with Yamaha, and that the Italian will be taking with him to Ducati only his telemetry data analyst Matteo Flamigni.
If Burgess is to remain in Yamaha, will he become Ben Spies crewchief, who is almost certain to make the jump to the factory team and will that mean that Spies will have to drop his own legendary crewchief, Tom Houseworth who has helped the Texan in taking his AMA championship titles and actually moved to Italy to help Spies take the WSBK title?July 25th isn’t that far away, so we’ll be patient and await further details.
