When it comes to HD Heritage Softail motorcycles, Mr.
Steve Willis surely knows what it is all about.
Straight out of his Shaw Speed & Custom workshop near Brighton, UK, comes the Flatliner, which arises from the ashes of a ‘06 1450cc Heritage Softail that was gifted to him by a customer.
Mr.
Willis’ goal was to preserve that 30s-40s feeling and providing it with a more modern touch by using “different materials and some anodizing“.
After disassembling the whole machine, the engine was re-built using a 1550cc kit.
RSD covers and yoke and silver anodizing were also used to give it an even more ‘vintage’ flavor.
Rims are original Harley Davidson but come from different models, they were chosen because of the neat look but have been re-worked and given brass finishing.
Besides, the colors of the Olympic flag can be spotted on the rear hub.
Quite impressive are the handmade rear mudguard and the leaf spring placed underneath the saddle, also handmade.
The fuel tank was lifted from a 2011 Harley XL1200 and reworked to give it that sort of War World II look.
Handelbar comes from SS&C and commands are provided by Performance Machine.
The frontal number plate emphasizes the headlight while hiding the digital instrumentation, and the whole wiring was revised and made lighter.
