According to Italian website Motosprint, WSBK team Stiggy Racing will be officially switching from Honda’s CBR1000RR to Yamaha’s R1 next season.
Apparently the switch was made possible by Monster Energy who will be the satellite team’s official sponsor and will co-finance the official Yamaha team alongside other sponsor Sterilgarda.

Stiggy’s bikes will be supplied by the Yamaha’s racing department at Gerno di Lermo and will be identical to the other two offical bikes and Motosprint confirms that Stiggy’s riders will be Leon Haslam and John Hopkins.

It has also been decided that Stiggy will also manage the two official Yamaha Supersport bikes, thus taking a 2 million euro financial burden off of Yamaha Europe shoulders and Anthony West will on one of the bikes, while the second rider has still to be chosen.
