The 2010 EICMA will host the new Aprilia Tuareg adventure tourer as more competition to the BMW R1200GS.
It joins other new models in the segment, including the more extreme Yamaha Tenere for 2010, and the Ducati Multistrada, whose off-road capabilities seem to be acceptable so far in press tests.
The Aprilia Tuareg will be equipped with the same 750cc engine as the Shiver and Dorsoduro, and will have a steel tube chassis and 21-inch front wheel for off-road use, along with an overall weight likely to come in under 200 kg.
An Aprilia Tuareg street version could appear later with a 1200cc engine and 19-inch wheel.
It looks like the Italian manufacturers are gearing up already for their homegrown motorcycle show, and hopefully EICMA 2010 will prove to be just as exciting as last year’s edition.
We can’t wait to see some more pics of the Tuareg when released.
