I know it seems like an April Fool’s joke, but fortunately or if unfortunately, it depends on what you think of Paris Hilton, as the ‘celebutante’s’ name to fame is only on the gossip rags, reality shows and a couple of cameo roles in TV series, will really be backing a 125cc GP team next season.
The SuperMartxé VIP by Paris Hilton, will be the well known BQR 125cc Team that has been in GP racing for years in 125cc, 250cc and Moto2 classes and in 2011 will be fielding Sergio Gadea (who is switching back to the lower class after a season in Moto2) and the 15-year old Maverick Vinales, the 2010 Spanish and European 125cc champion.
The team’s presentation will be held at Hotel ME, in Madrid on December 18th followed by a party at the Fabrik with Ms.
Hilton accompanied by her partners, Nano, Xavi Montero and Ricard Garriga.
Also attending will be Ricard Jové, sporting and technical director for the team, and the technical staff will include legendary crew chief Rossano Brazzi.
Not to spit on fresh sponsorship money, especially in these troubled economic times, but hopefully Paris Hilton’s notoriety will not overwhelm the team’s racing efforts, and that if this young lady does attend a couple of the races, will learn to keep a low profile as other famous celebrities who have previously backed teams have done.
