GIMA 125 French motorcycle renaissance: country lane motorcycling is back

An exact replica of a 1950’s French motorcycle is born again in the form of the GIMA 125 revival.
GIMA (Groupement Industriel Métallurgique l’Automobile) was a French motorcycle manufacturer specialising in a 125 cc bike.
While nothing speedy or fancy by today’s standards, it’s a beautiful vehicle and had its moment of fame when it won the 1949 Bold D’Or in the 125 category.

The GIMA 125 has been built again, entirely in France, and based on the 1946 model with a few exceptions for the modern world.
It has a 125 cc, four-stroke engine, and is an extremely easygoing bike that you’ll want as a romantic run-about for the French countryside.

The GIMA 125 has a top speed of just 80-90 km, and weighs 105 kg.
It’s fuel efficiency is incredible, though, apparently consuming just 2.
5 litres per 100 km, meaning you can go a long way on the 14-litre tank.
It’s certainly a beautiful looking bike and if you’re in the market for one, and happen to appreciate a French-built vehicle, it costs about 4,990 euros.
For more details, see the Moto GIMA site.
