Excited fans see price drops on select Adidas Spezial items ahead of Black Friday.
Topics covered
In a surprising turn of events, just weeks after the much-anticipated launch of the Adidas Spezial range, Aberdeen fans are now witnessing significant price reductions on select items. The exclusive collection, which was part of Adidas’s initiative to celebrate historic clubs, quickly garnered attention and excitement among supporters.
Initial excitement and rapid sell-outs
The launch of the Adidas Spezial range was met with long queues of eager fans, all hoping to snag a piece of the exclusive merchandise. The collection featured a variety of items, including trainers priced at £110, which sold out almost immediately.
Other popular items, such as a sweatshirt and polo shirt, also flew off the shelves, with prices set at £110 and £100 respectively. The demand was so high that within a day, trainers were being resold on eBay for over double the original price, with listings reaching as high as £229.99.
Discounts ahead of Black Friday
As Black Friday approaches, fans are now able to take advantage of early discounts on certain items from the Spezial range. Notably, the track top and track pants, which initially retailed for a combined total of £290, have seen price cuts of over 20%. The track top is now available for £120, down from £160, while the trousers are priced at £100, a reduction from £130. This marks a 25% discount on the track top and a 23% discount on the trousers, making them more accessible to fans.
Availability and sizes
While the trousers are available in all sizes from extra small to double extra large, the track top has sold out in the smaller sizes. However, it remains available in medium to XXL. The £110 sweatshirt is still in stock, but only in two sizes: medium and XL. Interestingly, some of the reduced track tops are already appearing on eBay, with listings from sellers in Nairn and Huntly priced at £169.99 and £160 respectively.
The inspiration behind the collection
The AFC Spezial F.C. clothing line is deeply rooted in the club’s heritage, with its color palette inspired by the iconic red, white, and navy jacket worn by legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson during the 1983 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup final. This connection to the club’s history adds a layer of significance to the merchandise, making it even more appealing to fans.
In addition to the Aberdeen collection, Adidas has also launched similar collections for other English clubs, including Leeds and Nottingham Forest, further solidifying its commitment to celebrating football culture through unique merchandise.
