In a delightful twist of fate, two of the most memorable contestants from this year’s series of The Traitors have returned to the picturesque Highlands of Scotland for another exciting adventure on the BBC show Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.
Harry Clark and Paul Gorton, known for their captivating personalities, have taken to the road once again, this time accompanied by experts Roo Irvine and Natasha Raskin Sharp.
Antique hunting in the Scottish countryside
The episode kicks off with the dynamic duo embarking on a quest to uncover hidden treasures in various antique stores scattered across the region.
Each team is given a budget of £400 to spend at each stop, with the ultimate goal of making a profit at auction. Their journey begins in the charming town of Dingwall, where they explore the offerings at Objet d’Art Antiques, owned by former banker William Powrie.
At this first stop, Paul and Roo strike a remarkable deal, purchasing a mourning brooch, which intriguingly features human hair, along with a nine-carat gold watch for a total of £240. Meanwhile, Harry, who previously won an impressive £95,000 on The Traitors, teams up with Natasha to haggle for a set of First World War field binoculars and a trio of silver spoons, securing them for £140.
Scenic views and unique finds
As they traverse the stunning Scottish countryside in a striking red Morgan, the pair encounters Highland cows, adding a touch of local charm to their adventure. Their next stops include Fearn Antiques in Hill of Fearn and Gardiner and Gardiner Antiques in Cromarty, both described as a “feast for the eyes.”
During their exploration, Paul, who is remembered for his pantomime villain persona on The Traitors, stumbles upon a 120-year-old photograph of Ardross Castle, the filming location for the hit TV show. In a humorous twist, he decides to sign the £10 photo, hoping to increase its value at the auction.
A taste of tradition and auction excitement
Harry, embracing the local culture, dons a traditional kilt and makes a purchase of a 1930s Art Deco travel alarm clock at MacMuddles Antiques in Cawdor. Midway through the hour-long episode, the stars of The Traitors visit Achnagairn Castle in Kirkhill, where they learn about the intricacies of a traditional Scottish breakfast, adding a culinary twist to their journey.
As the episode draws to a close, the teams make their way to Nottingham for the auction. In a surprising turn of events, Paul and Roo manage to secure the biggest profit, despite only making £1 from the signed photo. This unexpected outcome highlights the unpredictable nature of antique hunting and the thrill of competition.
