A serious road accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon near Pitmedden, resulting in a 72-year-old woman being hospitalized. The collision took place on the A920 Ellon to Oldmeldrum road, close to the B999 crossroads, around PM. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, where a Land Rover Defender and a Ford EcoSport were involved in the crash.

The elderly woman, who was driving the Ford EcoSport, was transported by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Medical staff have reported that her condition is serious, prompting concerns for her health. In addition to her, a 60-year-old woman driving the Land Rover and a 61-year-old male passenger were also taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, both were later released after receiving necessary care.
