Supporting local education through community efforts

The concert is not just about entertainment; it plays a crucial role in supporting education in the area. Ticket sales from the event, generously sponsored by Spar Scotland, contribute to the Pounds for Primaries initiative. Earlier this year, this initiative donated an impressive £21,600 to 120 schools in the north and north-east of Scotland. Craig Walker, the editor of the Press and Journal and Evening Express, emphasized the importance of this fundraising effort, stating, “A big part of the concert is that the money raised goes to good causes in the north-east of Scotland.” This initiative is set to continue into 2025, further solidifying the concert’s role in enhancing local education.

Community spirit shines bright

Paula Middleton, head of marketing at Spar Scotland, expressed pride in sponsoring the concert, highlighting the company’s commitment to supporting local communities. “We believe in giving back to those who support us throughout the year,” she said. This sentiment was echoed by Rob Wicks, managing director of P&J Live, who noted the significance of bringing the community together during the festive season. “Having the local community come together and celebrate this time of year is something very special,” he remarked.

As the evening unfolded, the atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement, reminding everyone of the true spirit of Christmas. The concert not only provided a platform for young talent to shine but also reinforced the bonds within the community, making it a memorable event for all involved.
