A recent break-in near Forres has prompted local authorities to release CCTV footage of a suspect, urging the public to assist in the investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday evening, between PM and PM, at a property located off the A96. During this time, a significant amount of cash was reported stolen.
The security cameras recorded a man entering the premises and subsequently exiting through the rear.
The police have not disclosed the specific location of the targeted property, but they are keen to gather any information that could lead to the identification of the suspect. Authorities are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behavior in the area during the timeframe of the break-in.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a slim build.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark grey tracksuit featuring reflective ties, along with fingerless gloves and black trainers. PC Ben Warr-Jones emphasized the importance of community vigilance, stating, “Although the premises may be off the main road, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area between PM and PM and who saw anyone acting suspiciously.”
Given the location of the building, it is believed that the suspect likely used some form of transportation to reach the site. Therefore, police are appealing to drivers who were in the vicinity during the specified time to check their dashcam footage for any relevant information. “If you were driving in the area at the time and have any dashcam footage, we’d appreciate being able to view what you have captured on it,” PC Warr-Jones added.
Members of the public who have any information regarding the incident are encouraged to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting incident number 3619 from Saturday, December 7. Alternatively, individuals can provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
