Currently, the park boasts 128 residential caravan pitches, 36 holiday static caravan pitches, and 20 touring caravan pitches. The addition of new pitches, complete with decking, is expected to attract more visitors and provide enhanced recreational opportunities for families and tourists.
Improvements at Cullen Primary School
In addition to recreational expansions, significant improvements are proposed for Cullen Primary School. The school, situated on Old Church Road, plans to undergo extensive renovations, including internal improvements, toilet upgrades, and new roof insulation. The estimated cost for these upgrades is around £3,058,000. These enhancements aim to create a better learning environment for students and ensure that the facilities meet modern standards.
Transformation of Elgin Town Hall
Another major project on the horizon is the transformation of Elgin Town Hall. Recently, planning chiefs approved the necessary permissions for this much-anticipated renovation. The project includes a new entrance extension facing Lossiemouth Road, a bar area, and a rehearsal space on the A96 side of the building. With a projected cost of approximately £10.24 million, this development is part of the £31 million Cultural Quarter project, which aims to revitalize the area and enhance its cultural offerings. Construction is set to begin next year and is expected to last until 2027.
Against the Grain seeks to extend opening hours
In the heart of Elgin, the popular tap room Against the Grain is looking to extend its opening hours. Currently operating from noon to 10 PM, the business aims to open from 10 AM to 11 PM, seven days a week. This change would provide greater flexibility for patrons and enhance the bar’s appeal. Environmental Health has expressed unconditional support for this proposal, which is currently awaiting a decision from planning chiefs.
Aberlour Villa FC’s new pavilion
On the sports front, Aberlour Villa FC has received approval for a new pavilion at Dowans Football Ground. This facility will replace the outdated structure and include a community hall, kitchen/dining area, and modern shower facilities. The club, which celebrated its 100th anniversary this year, aims to provide a better experience for players and fans alike. Local residents have expressed hope that the new facility will address previous concerns about littering and improve the overall community atmosphere.
