Details of the disappearance
Sam was last in contact with friends around 9 AM on the day of his disappearance. He had planned to ski either Y Gulley or Diagonal Gulley from the Cairngorm Plateau, but has not returned to his van, which was parked at the Cairngorm Mountain car park.

Physical description and clothing
Described as being approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with short brown hair and a slim build, Sam is believed to have been wearing either a bright blue or bright orange jacket along with a ski helmet at the time of his disappearance. Inspector Craig Johnstone of Police Scotland has expressed deep concern for Sam’s welfare, stating, “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Sam’s welfare and are keen to trace him as soon as possible.” The police are appealing to anyone who was in the Cairngorm Plateau or the Loch Avon Basin on December 13 and may have seen Sam to come forward with any information.
